General description
The Roksan Attessa CD Transport is a transport unit for playing CDs, separate from digital converters. This Roksan Attessa CD Transport delivers a pure reproduction of audio CDs by keeping the laser mechanism and transport mechanism separate from the digital signal processing. Thanks to its precise CD player functionality, it delivers a well-defined stereo image, with rich detail and natural sound in the listening room.
With the Roksan Attessa CD Transport, you’ll experience a sound that emphasizes dynamics and nuance. The soundstage is spacious, with clarity in the high frequencies and control in the bass, without the midrange being overshadowed.
The design of this player, which lacks a built-in processor, ensures that only the essence of the CD is conveyed; purity of sound and detail are paramount. When paired with high-quality amplifiers or standalone digital converters, this device creates space for a deeper connection to every note and every instrument in a recording.

Reviews & awards | Roksan Attessa CD Transport

StereoNET

: The combination of the Attessa CD Transport and the separate integrated amplifier sounds “solid, focused, and clean.” The sound is well-balanced, surprisingly full-bodied, and natural for this price range. The high frequencies are clear without becoming harsh; the sound is both tangible and smooth and refined, with a slight sheen. Compared to an SACD system, there is a noticeable but slight improvement in terms of soundstage and transparency; those who aren’t listening critically will hardly notice the difference.

Alpha Audio

: In their multi-product test of CD transports priced up to €1,500, the Roksan is praised for its build quality, precision, and finish. The level of detail in imaging and focus scores highly, while the bass is sometimes slightly less tight in very transparent systems. The high frequencies lack sharp edges; the sound is more relaxed than analytical. Jitter is present but not distracting; average RMS jitter is around 40 ps.

Hi-Fi i Muzyka

: This Polish review calls the Attessa CD Transport “a pleasant surprise” in terms of sound quality relative to its price. The transport delivers an exceptionally natural midrange, good body in the sound, and a clean high end without “harshness.” In systems where clarity and detail are important, the bass performance stands out, though it is a weak point compared to top-of-the-line models.

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979. We do not know what it contained, but in 1982 the first CD was released for the market, it was the album Visitors by ABBA. In this year the first player became available and so began the elimination of the LP from the market. Many have literally thrown their LPs in the trash… we still see some visitors being disappointed when they tell us this. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen.
