Background information

The Line Magnetic LM-211IA is designed with a focus on classic tube amplifier technology, inspired by vintage designs. The amplifier uses high-quality components such as ALPS potentiometers, Japanese Takman resistors and hand-wound transformers. The housing is robustly built with a steel chassis and finish panels with high-quality paint. The internal wiring is done by hand for optimum signal purity. The design comes from founder and chief engineer Zheng Cai, a lover of vintage audio electronics.

Brand history

Line Magnetic was founded in 2005 by Zheng Cai, along with his brother Zheng Xi, in Zhuhai, China. The brand focuses exclusively on the production of electronics based on vacuum tubes. The founders themselves have long been involved in collecting and researching historic electronic components. The company pays attention to reproducing designs inspired by West Electric models from the first half of the twentieth century. Line Magnetic manufactures amplifiers, CD players, DACs, speakers and related components. The transformers and enclosures used are made in-house. Vacuum tube production is done using technology and machinery from the former Soviet era. Tube types used include: 12AX7, 12AU7, 6SN7, EL34, 300B, 2A3, 805 and 845. Repair and overhaul of older products are part of the work.
