The KEF R3 Meta is a three-way bookshelf speaker that excels in sound reproduction and precision. Thanks to the 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array—in which the tweeter is positioned in the center of the midrange cone—a point source is created that delivers an accurate stereo image and a spacious soundstage.
With the integration of Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), the KEF R3 Meta absorbs 99% of unwanted noise, resulting in a clean and natural sound. The hybrid aluminum bass drivers deliver tight and controlled bass reproduction, bringing the dynamics of your music to life.

The KEF R3 Meta is designed with innovative Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which provides even better sound absorption and reduced distortion. KEF’s engineers, including Dr. Jack Oclee-Brown, have used high-quality materials such as aluminum and magnesium for the Uni-Q driver. The enclosure is sturdy and low-resonance thanks to a combination of wood and reinforcing materials. The internal wiring is made of pure copper for optimal signal transmission.
KEF was founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke in Maidstone, Kent, England. The company’s original goal was to develop loudspeakers using new materials and technologies. In its early years, KEF worked closely with the BBC, which led to the creation of well-known speaker models such as the BBC LS3/5A. The company has built a reputation for using advanced techniques and materials. Over the years, KEF has filed numerous patent applications and introduced innovative technologies, such as the Uni-Q cartridge, which combines coaxial speaker drivers. To this day, the company remains active in designing high-quality audio solutions and has received numerous awards for its products. KEF continues its tradition of technological innovation and remains internationally recognized as an influential name in its field.
