The Van Medevoort CD 250 is a CD player designed for music lovers. The sturdy housing helps minimize resonances and mechanical distortion. The transport mechanism is mounted on a sub-chassis with spring-loaded suspension, which reduces acoustic feedback.

High quality audio components have been used in the power supply and both digital and analog circuits. The vM super clock ensures accurate timing and minimal jitter in the digital domain.
Additional control options such as repeat or random play are available with the remote control. In addition to gold-plated digital and analog coaxial cinch outputs, there is also a digital optical output.

Brand history

Van Medevoort was founded in 1985 by audio designer Ben van Medevoort. The brand develops, assembles and tests all its products in the Netherlands. In 1986, the company introduced its first amplifier, the vM MA100, followed by the vM SA100 stereo power amplifier with matching vM PA100 preamplifier. Digital products such as D/A converters and CD players were added in the 1990s. This expanded the delivery program to include both analog and digital components. Subsequent product lines were given the designation “vM” followed by a type number. The designs are based on discrete electronics, with no use of op-amps or digital volume control. CD

De Compact Disc (CD) kwam zoals de meeste uitvindingen niet uit de lucht vallen. Na de uitvinding van de laser in 1958 werd in 1961 het eerste octrooi voor optisch leesbare schijven ingediend. In 1972 werden de eerste digitale videoplaten geïntroduceerd. Na een flop van Philips kwam de fabrikant in 1979 samen met Sony met de eerste cd, wat erop stond weten wij niet maar in 1982 kwam de eerste cd voor de markt uit, het was het album Visitors van ABBA. In dit jaar kwam de eerste speler beschikbaar en zo begon de verdrijving van de lp uit de markt. Velen hebben hun lp’s letterlijk bij het vuil gezet… sommige bezoekers zien wij nog steeds balen als ze dit vertellen. Heb je cd’s, geniet er vooral nog eens van, ze hebben immers geen oneindige levensduur.

The Compact Disc (CD), like most inventions, did not appear out of thin air. After the invention of the laser in 1958, the first patent for optically readable disks was filed in 1961. The first digital video records were introduced in 1972. After a flop by Philips, the manufacturer, together with Sony, released the first CD in 1979.
