The Van Medevoort CD 250 is a CD player designed for music lovers. The sturdy housing helps minimize resonances and mechanical distortion. The transport mechanism is mounted on a sub-chassis with spring-loaded suspension, which reduces acoustic feedback.
Van Medevoort was founded in 1985 by audio designer Ben van Medevoort. The brand develops, assembles and tests all its products in the Netherlands. In 1986, the company introduced its first amplifier, the vM MA100, followed by the vM SA100 stereo power amplifier with matching vM PA100 preamplifier. Digital products such as D/A converters and CD players were added in the 1990s. This expanded the delivery program to include both analog and digital components. Subsequent product lines were given the designation “vM” followed by a type number. The designs are based on discrete electronics, with no use of op-amps or digital volume control. The enclosures are made entirely of metal. Van Medevoort carries out production, final assembly, testing and service itself from its headquarters in IJsselstein.
