Description
Square, heavy, with a top plate of glass. Quad yes! Warm and full as then, but today with much more detail.
The Quad Artera Stereo is an amplifier designed with attention to both power and musicality. With patented Current Dumping technology, this amplifier delivers stable and dynamic sound reproduction even at high volumes. The design combines an aluminum front panel with a glass top and milled heat sinks on the sides, which not only provides a robust look, but also helps reduce vibration. The amplifier features both balanced XLR and RCA inputs, making it flexible to use with a variety of audio sources. With an output of 140 watts per channel, the Artera Stereo is capable of driving a variety of speakers and delivering detailed and powerful sound.
The Quad Artera Play+ was designed by the British Quad team in Huntingdon, with a focus on sound purity and simplicity. The preamplifier/DAC/CD player combo combines classic British audio engineering with modern digital performance. The housing is solid aluminum, while internally it uses high-quality ESS Sabre32 DACs. All optimized for signal purity and minimal interference.
Quad was founded in 1936 by Peter Walker in England. The company introduced its first loudspeaker, the “Corner Ribbon,” in 1949. This loudspeaker used a ribbon technology to produce high frequencies, which provided clear high-tone reproduction. In the 1950s, Quad introduced the Electrostatic Loudspeaker (ESL), which was a milestone in the development of loudspeaker technology. The ESL was known for its full-range electrostatic technology, which provided unprecedented natural sound.
