Description
The LS60 Wireless is hugely popular. An active set! Powerful amplifiers, precisely tuned to the units. A great picture. Easy to operate! The playback is big and spacious with an impressive and detailed low end. The reproduction is focused and coherent, with no time fading or phase problems.
These floorstanding speakers combine advanced technologies for accurate and natural sound reproduction. The 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array acts as a single point source, resulting in coherent mid- and high-frequency dispersion. Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) absorbs 99% of unwanted sound at the rear of the driver, minimizing distortion. Uni-Core technology uses two pairs of side-firing woofers in a power-suppressing arrangement, providing deep and controlled bass response. The Music Integrity Engine optimizes the timing and phase of the sound, contributing to accurate reproduction of the original audio signal. With support for streaming up to 24bit/384kHz and compatibility with Wi-Fi, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Bluetooth, these speakers offer extensive connectivity options. There are also connections for HDMI eARC, optical, coaxial and analog RCA, allowing integration with a variety of audio sources.
The KEF R3 Meta is designed according to KEF’s acoustic philosophy: clear, accurate sound with minimal distortion. The speaker features the latest Uni-Q driver array with Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), which absorbs unwanted resonances up to 99%. The cabinet is reinforced with Constrained Layer Damping for reduced vibration. Developed by KEF’s acoustics team led by Jack Oclee-Brown.
KEF was founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke in Maidstone, Kent, United Kingdom. The name derives from Kent Engineering & Foundry, where the original workshop was located on the site of Kent Engineering’s steel construction plant. Raymond Cooke was a former BBC audio engineer. From the beginning, the company used synthetic materials and made measurements under controlled conditions. In 1973, a special acoustic laboratory was opened for technical developments. In 1988 KEF developed the Uni-Q driver, in which the treble and midrange speakers are placed together in one axis. Since 2005, it has been headquartered in East Sussex, Great Britain. Over the years, the brand has focused on construction of loudspeakers, including floorstanding models, bookshelf models and flush-mount speakers, as well as portable playback products.
