This integrated amplifier delivers 60 watts per channel and features network streaming and Apple AirPlay. With both digital and analog connections, including coaxial, optical and USB inputs, it offers flexibility for a variety of audio sources. SoundEngine2 technology reduces distortion and improves bass control, resulting in a natural and dynamic listening experience. An OLED display shows information clearly, and the high-quality front headphone jack makes personal listening easy. With an attenuation factor of more than 2000, the system can effectively drive several speakers. The dimensions are 10 cm high, 43 cm wide and 31 cm deep, weighing 11 kg.
The Hegel H90 was designed by Bent Holter, founder and chief designer of Hegel Music Systems. The integrated amplifier uses Hegel’s SoundEngine amplification technology, which minimizes distortion and delivers dynamic, natural sound. The H90 features a high-quality DAC and supports streaming via AirPlay. The housing is solid metal with a minimalist design. All designs are developed internally in Norway with a focus on sound neutrality and reliability.
Hegel was founded in Norway in the late 1980s by Bent Holter. In his graduate project at Trondheim University of Technology, he developed a solution for reducing distortion in transistor amplifiers. This led to the technology that later became known as SoundEngine. In 1988, the name Hegel was first used for an amplifier. The company released several CD players and amplifiers in the 1990s. In 1996, the first fully balanced amplifier was introduced. Around 2004, the brand began developing DA converters. Later products featured networking capabilities to support digital music playback. Hegel exclusively markets its own electronics, developing both the circuit design and the necessary software itself. The company conducts international distribution of its products from Norway.
