Looking for an amplifier that combines power and precision? The Hegel H390 offers an impressive listening experience with 250 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Thanks to the patented SoundEngine 2 technology, distortions are minimized, resulting in a clear and detailed sound.
The Hegel H390 was developed by Hegel Music Systems of Norway, with Bent Holter as chief engineer. Its design philosophy rests on low distortion and pure signal reproduction via patented SoundEngine2 technology. The amplifier uses high-quality components, a solid aluminum housing and precise internal wiring for optimal sound. Manufacturing and tuning take place largely in Oslo.
Hegel was founded in Norway in the late 1980s by Bent Holter. In his graduate project at Trondheim University of Technology, he developed a solution for reducing distortion in transistor amplifiers. This led to the technology that later became known as SoundEngine. In 1988, the name Hegel was first used for an amplifier. The company released several CD players and amplifiers in the 1990s. In 1996, the first fully balanced amplifier was introduced. Around 2004, the brand began developing DA converters. Later products featured networking capabilities to support digital music playback. Hegel exclusively markets its own electronics, developing both the circuit design and the necessary software itself. The company conducts international distribution of its products from Norway.
