The Hegel H120 is an integrated amplifier known for its natural sound reproduction. Thanks to SoundEngine 2 technology, distortions are eliminated in real time, resulting in a pure and detailed sound. With various digital and analog inputs, the H120 offers flexibility for different audio sources. In addition, the device supports streaming services such as Apple AirPlay and Spotify Connect, making it easy to play music wirelessly. The H120 is designed for music lovers who value both sound quality and ease of use.
The Hegel H120 was designed in Norway with the same philosophy as the more expensive models: neutral and natural sound. Led by chief designer Bent Holter, Hegel uses patented technologies such as SoundEngine2 for low distortion and high dynamics. The cabinet is solidly built, with high-quality components and an internal power supply that minimizes noise. The H120 is assembled with careful quality control in Hegel’s own facilities.
Hegel was founded in Norway in the late 1980s by Bent Holter. In his graduate project at Trondheim University of Technology, he developed a solution for reducing distortion in transistor amplifiers. This led to the technology that later became known as SoundEngine. In 1988, the name Hegel was first used for an amplifier. The company released several CD players and amplifiers in the 1990s. In 1996, the first fully balanced amplifier was introduced. Around 2004, the brand began developing DA converters. Later products featured networking capabilities to support digital music playback. Hegel exclusively markets its own electronics, developing both the circuit design and the necessary software itself. The company conducts international distribution of its products from Norway.
