Description
From King George V to Charles III, no Windsor has had these aristocrats on stands in their homes. These cabinets play smoothly and capture the attention of the relaxed listener.
The Windsor Duke is a speaker known for its craftsmanship and sound quality. With an 8-inch woofer and a 28mm textile dome tweeter, it delivers a balanced sound. The cabinet is finished with hand-selected veneers, creating a unique look. The speaker was designed in collaboration with renowned designer Karl-Heinz Fink and his team. The cabinet construction uses double MDF panels with a special acoustic glue to minimize resonances. The speaker is available in a variety of finishes, including walnut and mahogany.
The Castle Windsor Duke was designed by Karl-Heinz Fink, a renowned acoustician within the hi-fi world. The speaker follows a classic BBC monitor philosophy with a focus on neutral, natural sound. It is hand-built in the UK with carefully selected components, including specially developed drivers, a low-resonance laminated wood cabinet and high-quality internal wiring.
Castle was founded in 1973 in Skipton, North Yorkshire, England. The brand is named after Skipton Castle, a medieval castle in the same town. Since its inception, Castle has combined the disciplines of loudspeaker design and furniture manufacturing within one facility. In its early years, the company produced its enclosures and components entirely in-house. In doing so, Castle used wood veneers and solid wood, and emphasized traditional woodworking techniques. In later years, the production facilities were moved to a location where craftsmen with a background in veneer processing hand-finished the matched enclosures. Over the years, Castle has focused on manufacturing speaker systems where cabinet construction is an integral part of the design. In doing so, the company continues to use natural materials and classic construction methods.
