The Bricasti M1 Classic MDx is a high-end DA converter designed and built in the USA by a small team of ex-Lexicon engineers. The focus was on pure sound, without coloration. The M1 Classic uses a fully balanced dual-mono design, with high-quality analog circuitry, linear power supply and the MDx DSP module, developed in-house for even faster signal processing. Both internally and externally, only carefully selected components are used for optimal performance.
Bricasti was founded in 2004 by Brian Zolner and Casey Dowdell. The company is based in Shirley, Massachusetts, United States. Bricasti develops and manufactures digital audio equipment, including reverb processors and digital-to-analog converters (DAC). Production takes place in-house, using CNC-machined aluminum enclosures. All electronic components are manufactured and assembled in the United States. Bricasti focuses on application within professional environments, and their first product, the M7 Stereo Reverb Processor, was introduced in 2007. The company uses proprietary algorithms for signal processing, which are developed in-house. Power supplies and analog circuits are also designed in-house. Bricasti’s products are used worldwide in studios and mastering facilities. Bricasti also offers firmware updates for various devices, which users can install themselves.
