No, strange designers\u2014this universal remote actually came standard with the unit. The power supply is an RFI-filtered shunt power supply with no zener reference, using LEDs as a voltage reference for a lower noise floor. The circuits are equipped with a bandwidth of at least 100 MHz, which contributes to improved time-domain response.
