The cabinet is constructed of thick MDF with high-quality veneer finish and internally braced for minimal resonance. REL uses NextGen5 amplification (800W) and CarbonGlass subwoofers for fast response and deep, controlled bass. Internal wiring is high quality and specifically selected for signal purity. Manufacturing and assembly take place under close supervision in the UK and Asia.    <\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"specification-item row-header\"><span class=\"spec-content\"><strong>Brand history<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"specification-item row-even\"><span class=\"spec-content\">REL Acoustics was founded by Richard Edmund Lord, born in 1939. After a stint as a radio operator in the merchant marine, he founded the company with the goal of building the best subwoofers. In 1990, REL introduced the High Level Input, which derives the input signal from the power amplifier, allowing for seamless integration with speakers. In 1998, the company developed the ABC Input Filters and High Current Amplifiers, focused on precise crossover settings and providing sufficient power for subwoofer drivers. After an acquisition in 2005, new ideas and technologies were introduced, including NaturalSound Filtering in 2007 and Carbon Fibre Driver Cones in 2010.
