General description<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
The Monitor Audio GS60 is a floorstanding speaker known for its sophisticated design and high-quality sound reproduction. With a slim enclosure of about 107 cm high, it fits effortlessly into a variety of interiors. The GS60 features advanced technologies such as the C-CAM (Ceramic Coated Aluminum\/Magnesium) drivers and RST (Rigid Surface Technology) cones, which contribute to accurate and detailed sound reproduction. The combination of a 1-inch C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, a 6.5-inch midrange driver and two 6.5-inch bass drivers creates a balanced sound with clear highs, natural mids and deep, controlled bass. With a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, the GS60 is compatible with a wide range of amplifiers. Sturdy construction and the use of high-quality materials contribute to the speaker’s durability and aesthetics. Background information<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
The Monitor Audio GS60 is the flagship in the Gold Signature series. Designed by Monitor Audio’s established R&D team in the UK, the GS60 uses gold-coated C-CAM tweeters, RST cone technology in the mid\/low drivers and internally of pure OFC copper wire. The cabinet is composed of layers of MDF, individually hand veneered and lacquered for minimal resonance and a luxurious finish. <\/span><\/div>\n
Brand history<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
Monitor Audio was founded in 1972 by Mo Iqbal in a small factory in Teversham, near Cambridge, England. The first loudspeaker the company produced was the MA1, assembled by hand by Iqbal and a small team of engineers. Over the years, the company reached several important milestones, including the introduction of the Platinum series in 2007.
