The DEQX PreMate is a versatile preamplifier and digital signal processor focused on improving the sound quality of existing audio systems. With advanced speaker and room correction, the PreMate provides accurate reproduction of music, correcting timing and phase errors. This results in a clear and balanced sound. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to its correction functions, the PreMate acts as a high-quality DAC and preamplifier. With various digital and analog inputs, the device is compatible with a variety of audio sources. The PreMate also supports streaming via USB and is integrated as a Roon endpoint, providing a seamless music experience. <\/span><\/div>\n

Using the PreMate requires an initial calibration to measure and correct for the specific characteristics of the speakers and listening room. This process can be performed using the supplied measurement microphone and software, or with the assistance of a specialist. After calibration, the PreMate provides enhanced sound reproduction tailored to the unique characteristics of the listening environment. <\/span><\/p>\n

The DEQX PreMate was designed with the philosophy that speakers and acoustics are as important as equipment itself. The Australian DEQX team, led by lead designer Kim Ryrie, combined digital speaker and room correction with a high-quality digital\/analog preamplifier design. The enclosure is aluminum; internally, DEQX uses high-quality components for minimum distortion and maximum resolution. <\/p>\n

Founded in Australia in 1997, DEQX developed the HDP-1, a digital processor intended for loudspeaker and room calibration. The technology is based on correcting loudspeaker characteristics in the digital domain before digital-to-analog conversion. The first product became available in 2002, with digital correction of phase, frequency response and timing. DEQX released a series of processors with a focus on accurate reproduction of sound signals. Subsequent models include the HDP-3, HDP-4, Premate and Mate, which enable features such as multiple digital and analog inputs, automatic and manual calibration and subwoofer integration. DEQX processors use measurement of impulse response and minimum phase correction. The products are used in systems where time, phase and frequency response correction is desired. The latest generation, the Pre-4, was announced with improved AD\/DA conversion and new calibration software, DEQX Calibrated\u2122. <\/p>\n
